  Let x be Johns age
y be Peters age
z be Alices age
x = 2y ---equation 1
y = z + 5 ---equation 2
x +5 = 3(z + 5) ---equation 3
Substitute both equations 1 and 2 to 3
x + 5 = 3(z + 5)
2y + 5 = 3y
3y -2y = 5
y = 5

Therefore Peter is 5 years old
